Personalisation Options

A plain wire stitched cardboard box does have its own appeal, but we also offer four alternative finish options to add a touch of personalisation to your boxes;

Stitched Boxes Blind Stamping Example

Blind Stamp

A ‘blind stamp’ is very simply an impression made (of your artwork) directly into the card using a pre-made die, leaving a subtle 3D image. The principle is the same as the hot foil blocking process, but for this type of stamp we don’t use a coloured ink foil. The same effect can be achieved using a transparent foil, which can add a matt or gloss finish to the final design.

*There is a one-off cost to produce the die. Production generally only takes a couple of days, so you could be receiving your personalised boxes sooner than you think.

Stitched Boxes Foil Blocking Example

Hot Foil Blocking

Hot foil blocking or foil stamping is an easy way to create personalised boxes. A company logo, brand or text can be positioned on the lid or side face as required. At Stitchedboxes, this is done through the manual application of a metallic foil through heat transfer, which leaves behind the design. As the process is performed by stamping a die* on to the cardboard box material the effect leaves a striking 3D impression.

There are hundreds of colour options to choose from; available in metallic, satin, pigments, holographs and pearl. Textured micro-structures can also be applied to add depth, light and movement to your designs.

*There is a one-off cost to produce the die. Production generally only takes a couple of days, so you could be receiving your personalised boxes sooner than you think.

Stitched Boxes Paper Laminated Example

Paper Laminated

Mounting a premium paper over a greyboard substrate is a popular and simple option for applying your branding to the box. Although a more costly alternative to foil blocking, there are literally thousands of papers* to choose from. We tend to work with specialist paper producers such as GF Smith and Winter and Co.

Our paper is mounted/laminated manually, using a PVA glue, on to B1 (500 x 707 mm) card sheets.

*Please note that we do not stock bespoke papers and any requirements will be ordered in to meet your requirements. We can apply paper free issued to us by the client, but the finish is largely dependent on the paper quality supplied.

Stitched Boxes Digitally Printed Example

Digitally Printed

Digital printing offers the most flexible option for customising your box. You can be as imaginative as your like, as any type of design can be printed (from your artwork) directly on to the cardboard substrate. You can flood the entire box surface with one colour (see red box image) or use the base cardboard colour to set of your artwork (see Precision Ice and Snow box).

This type of box customisation is generally the most costly option, particularly for short run orders.
