We use stitched boxes for gifting for a number of occasions. And our customers love the way it’s presented – a finished item that they don’t even need to wrap, it already has a real luxury feel to it.

I chose Stitched Boxes because I felt really welcomed by both the website and the communication I had – I have so often tried to source materials for my business and felt my custom wasn’t valued; it can often be tricky to find a supplier who is happy to work with small quantities.

Stitched Boxes attracted us initially for many reasons. Expertly handcrafted – check. Local – check. And the good quality – check again! We use our Stitched Boxes for two lovely things – our monthly candle subscription boxes and our beautiful range of ready-made gift boxes.

They looked utilitarian but had a warmth and charm to them, and after getting a sample made-up I knew they would be perfect for the new Morfff packaging. It makes me smile when I package up a new order with these boxes.

Sometimes with slightly bigger companies you send an email to someone, and someone else will reply and you never speak to the same person and end up going in circles – that can be quite frustrating. That’s not the case with Stitchedboxes at all.

It’s more in keeping with our brand, the kind of ethical values that come with using natural materials to make your products; quite honest about how its made, how its stitched, the same way as how our products are hand-finished, hand-crafted.

Boxes are lightweight so they’re easy to ship, but they still have that robustness – they stand up to being knocked about when they’re being shipped and arrive in good condition. They’re made to our exact size specification and it’s ideal.

When you’re a small business, the best thing that you can do is to create these kind of networks with other similar organisations and businesses and work together. I think we’ve always had a feeling that working with other people is better than working alone.

Packaging – it’s the first thing a customer sees. As much time as we spend making our stands, or our shops or ourselves look good for the customer, packaging is as important because when you open your delivery or gift, that’s the first thing you’re going to see.

Our packaging is completely recyclable – that’s where we came to find your boxes actually, because we didn’t want to use any plastic for our packaging, and we use shredded paper to fill it.

We especially love the fact that the Stitched Boxes are handmade in Sheffield, working with UK companies is extremely important to us, as we love to be able to pass this heritage onto our customers alongside our products.

Andy’s background has always involved branding and a vintage look was envisaged for the style of box, with a Kraft paper finish chosen. Presentation is important and our customers often take photographs of their bow tie in the gift box and comment on the packaging.
